Head Start Preschool Teacher
I live in my family home in Whitehall. I have had the privilege of living in a wide variety of places. I was born in Illinois, raised for the most part, in the Virgin Islands until we moved to Michigan. While in high school, our family moved onto our sailboat and sailed from Whitehall to New York and then down the East coast and settled for a time in the Florida Keys. We returned to Michigan and I graduated from Whitehall.
After graduation, I worked a variety of odd jobs and attended college before moving to New York and becoming a live-in nanny. I lived with the family for five years helping to raise two amazing babies. When the oldest child turned five and started school, I returned to Michigan and began to work as a before and after school coordinator.
I left that job and began work in a childcare center. I worked with preschool students during the school year and school-aged students as part of our summer program. After the center closed, I found my way to the Shelby ECC.
I first worked in the GSRP program and then worked as an assistant in kindergarten before settling in with the Head Start program. I worked as a Head Start assistant before starting as a Head Start lead teacher in 2014.
My hobbies include photography, reading, computers, and movies. My passion is working with children. I am a kid at heart and love to play.
